2.5.13. System of hydrostrengthening of a wheel (GUR) - the general information

On the models equipped with GUR decrease in resistance of a steering wheel to rotation is reached for uses of the steering pump given from the engine providing rise in pressure in the hydraulic path connected to the steering mechanism.

The stop of the engine or break of a belt of the drive of the steering pump lead to failure of the hydraulic booster — at the same time the steering drive continues to work in the normal mode with only that difference that for rotation of a steering wheel it is necessary to put bigger effort, especially at the parking and the movement with small speeds.
